Mexican Crafts and Folk ArtWhen travelling Mexico you'll find that in many of the regions the people continue to dress in colorful, hand-crafted, traditional garb and fashion crafts and artwork out of local materials with not much more aid than a simple back-strap loom or a mere wood-carving knife or their bare hands and a clay oven. Mexican folk arts and crafts are flowing and intuitive. Materials range from various kinds of clay for pottery to weavings out of hand-spun and naturally-dyed wool and fibers, from beaten bark paper to hand-beaten copper; from light and fragile figurines made of woven straw to massive, carved columns made of tropical hardwoods.
