Copper Canyon Vegetation
Because of their altitude, the Copper Canyons encompass a variety of climatic conditions, from the high, dry and cool upper regions to the lush, warm and humid depths of the deep canyons.
This allows for a wide range of vegetation, and when we travelled to the canyons during the rainy season of 2001, we were astounded by the multitude of glorious trees, lichens, fungi and flowers nature presented to us.
Below are some of the cultivated and wild flowers and plants we saw during our trip through the higher regions of the Copper Canyon system in the areas of Divisadero and Cerocahui.
